The Ben and Lucy Ana Walton Fund of the Walton Family Foundation aims to reduce disparity at age 5 in the greater Denver area so that all children start school with the emotional and cognitive conditions necessary to succeed. Mental health for parents, infants and toddlers is one focus of the Fund’s regional work. The Fund’s partnership with 2020 Mom serves to stimulate change and raise awareness of the silent maternal mental health crisis, impacting up to 20% of expecting and new moms. 2020 Mom has identified best practices for those in the health care system including insurers, hospitals and communities and is building nationwide partnerships to implement these practices.
